No. Its main dry compartment and waterproof Vass-Tex DC material are designed to protect the equipment inside, removing the need to purchase and carry a separate rucksack rain cover.

The rucksack has a 40-litre dry compartment for storing fishing equipment. A semi-transparent separator pocket is also positioned inside the dry area for smaller items such as rig wallets and keys.

The main dry compartment uses a roll-top closure. The Edition 3 design includes an additional central strap and quick-release buckle, providing extra fastening and helping prevent the roll-top section from opening when the bag is overloaded.

The rucksack has large elasticated mesh pockets on both sides for items such as water bottles and rod tubes. Velcro loops are also positioned on each side to help secure rod tubes during transport.

Yes. A large external wet pocket allows damp or wet equipment to be carried separately from the dry compartment. On the Edition 3 model, this pocket is secured by two adjustable straps with quick-release buckles.

The rucksack has wide padded and adjustable shoulder straps, along with waist and chest straps secured by quick-release buckles. Adjustable upper tilt straps help position the bag at the correct angle across the back and shoulders, particularly when it is fully loaded.

The padded back section includes a vertical spine gap that encourages additional air circulation between the rucksack and the wearer’s back.

Yes. The smooth waterproof coating on both sides of the Vass-Tex DC material allows the bag to be wiped clean or hosed down. The material does not retain water or moisture, helping it dry quickly, while the metal-free and zip-free construction prevents rust and removes the risk of broken zips.

So what’s changed from ‘Edition 1 & 2’? With consistent development and testing Vass have made a number of improvements which include:-
